Sam Smith Brings Holiday Joy With 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas'

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and what better way to ring in the holiday than with the angelic singing voice of Sam Smith?

The “Too Good at Goodbyes” singer stopped by the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge this past Wednesday (Dec. 13) to serenade listeners with the beautiful Christmas classic, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” Smith originally released a cover of the song in 2014, which debuted at number 90 on the Billboard Hot 100 -- making it the first (and so far, only) time a version of the song has charted.

Before his cover for the Live Lounge, Smith revealed that he is not a big fan of Christmas music telling host Clara Amfo, “I don’t really like Christmas songs. I’m such a Scrooge when it comes to Christmas songs because I worked in Clinton Cards when I was a kid and they just ruined these Christmas songs for me.”

Despite his cold feelings towards the warm music of the holiday season, Smith went on to perform a beautiful and stunning cover of the song, one that is sure to bring tears to any Grinch out there.

Following that performance, he went on to also perform his latest single “One Last Song” that he revealed is the final song for the man who his first album was about. "It's the final song for the guy who the first album was about. I needed to stop myself so it's good,” he said.

Check out Smith’s gorgeous Christmas cover and "One Last Song" performance below.
