Katy Perry is getting "vulnerable" with fans.

Perry took to her Instagram on Sunday (November 9) to reflect on the positive response and support fans have shown for her latest single "bandaids." The track, which dropped Friday, details doing everything possible to make a relationship work but having "too many splinters" for it to last.

Sharing several photos and clips from behind the scenes of the Final Destination-style music video, Perry explained in the caption that she "struggled" with the idea of sharing the song with the world but hopes it will resonate with others going through a similar situation.

"thank you for the love on bandaids," she wrote. "tbh I struggled for months with the idea of putting this song out... even after all these years it can be scary to be vulnerable... but hopefully the lyrics of this song resonate with someone going through what I have been through and maybe they won't feel so alone and will find the strength to keep going like I have ❤️‍🩹"

Based on the comments under her post, Perry's openness paid off.

"We love you and all the vulnerability," one fan wrote, with another echoing the sentiment, "The truth will always set you free. Authenticity is everything! You are the definition of RESILIENCE! Love you KP."

The new song seemingly provides insight into the breakdown of her relationship with ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom. The pair split earlier this year after nearly a decade of dating and welcoming one child together, 5-year-old daughter Daisy Dove Bloom. Perry has since sparked romance rumors with a new man.
