Southeast Louisiana saw a snowfall for the record books.
The National Weather Service's official report of eight inches at the Louis Armstrong International Airport far outstripped the previous record of just under three inches set in 1963. On the Northshore, the official report showed five inches fell in Slidell.
Unofficially, reports across the New Orleans metro ranged from 11-and-a-half inches in Chalmette, 10 inches near New Orleans and Metairie, and 9 inches in Kenner.
In the Baton Rouge area, unofficial reports ranged from 3 to 9 inches.

Residents are urged to continue sheltering-in-place and stay off the roads as dangerous icy conditions persist.
